Important Voter Deadlines and Resources

The most important action you can take to help save New York is to register to vote. Find information about how to register to vote and apply for an absentee ballot below.

The Deadline to Register to Vote is May 28th

In order to vote in the June 22nd Primary Election, you MUST be registered to vote in a political party.  If you are not currently a registered voter in New York City, you have until May 28th to register to vote and choose a party.  

June Primary

The June Primary will take place on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. All 51 council seats will be up for election, including those where there are special elections occurring prior, as well as citywide elections for Mayor, Comptroller, and Public Advocate. Register to vote or check your registration here.  There are three ways to vote: by mail, in person early voting, and Election Day. 

Absentee (vote by mail) Deadlines:
June 15th: Last day to submit an application to receive an absentee ballot.
June  22nd: Last day to deliver your absentee ballot to the Board of Elections office in person OR to be postmarked at the post office.

In Person Early Voting Period: June 12th – June 20th.  *Your Early Vote polling location may be different from your Election Day polling location.  Before you go, check the Board of Elections link below for updated polling locations and times! 

Election Day – Tuesday, June 22nd

How to Register

You can register to vote in NYC by mail, online or in-person, but your registration must be mailed or received 25 days before the election, which is May 28th. Visit https://vote.nyc/page/register-vote for more information.
